They told me what to do, they told me how to be.
I tried to conform go the easy way, become a square of society.
But I could help thinkin, couldn't help being, being me.
They told me, "That's not the way," "You're doning it wrong."
I felt shut out. Felt so alone.
Until,
I found other misfits. People who felt comfortable in their own skin.
People who shed their societal masks, to be who they are.
But we still play the game.
We pretend in the day.
They see us at work and think, "My what nice upstanding citizens."
But when they see us at night they cross the street, shielding their
children's eyes,
"Honey, don't look!"
They tell them that we're weird and wrong.
If I'm so wrong, then why do I feel so good?
You don't have to try to be understood.
Just be you, 'cause that's who I wanna know.
So, live your life the way you want.
Experience life the way you want.
